Lunaria annua, Money Plant, is a biennial

May 16th, 2008

I just realized my money plants (planted two years ago from seed, but they only got pretty last year) are BIENNIALS. That means two years, and that’s it. I was looking through some pics from last year and came across my money plants, then realized they weren’t up and should have been blooming by now.

So I googled, and bummer. They were duds the first year, pretty the second year. That seems like a lot of work for very little. And thing is, I had more seeds. Maybe I’ll just plant a bunch of that leftover seed and see what happens. Actually, the seed pods should have fallen and reseeded.

Well, that’s just a pip.
